The sustainable exploitation of living marine resources demands an understanding of how the marine ecosystem functions--hence the initiation by the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources of the "Ecogreen" research programme into the West Greenland marine ecosystem.

fra 1994 til 2002. Verdenssundhedsorganisationen WHO har siden 1984 gennemført en omfattende spørgeskemaundersøgelse blandt ældre skolebørn, hvor en lang ræke spørgsmål omkring sundhedsadfærd besvares anonymt. Grønland har deltaget i denne undersøgelse i 1994, 1998 og 2002.

Landsstyremedlem for Forskning Henriette Rasmussen underskrev tirsdag den 13. juli 2004 en samarbejdsaftale om forskning med den amerikanske National Science Foundation
